Merchandising Training Academy for Large South African Retailer
Designing and developing a Merchandising academy
Our client identified a skills gap after a long period of ‘systems only’ training. They decided to create an academy to develop commercial skills and to encourage the team to ‘think and act like traders’.
First Friday were asked to design and develop a Merchandising academy.
We developed a framework based on the best-in-class thinking for planning, buying and trading. We went on to develop the first phase of workshops and delivered pilot training to support the launch.
The benefits included a consistent approach to process across the business and improved commercial decision making with a great focus on customer and profit.
