ASOS was established in June 2000 and has over 4,000 employees. It is the UK's largest independent online and fashion beauty retailer,
First Friday were asked to help the with the implementation of a brand new WSSI system for ASOS, whilst ensuring the entire business welcomed the change. Many of the teams within the company were working in different ways with different product hierarchies across different departments. In addition, the user acceptance testing of the new system threw up a number of last minute amendments, squeezing deadlines even tighter. Our business change manager worked closely with both our training & design teams and the key stakeholders at ASOS, therefore ensuring the whole process ran smoothly and efficiently with everyone working to the same timelines. Our experience of working with planning systems also enabled us to develop training material at the same time as the system was still being amended.
Unlike deploying a phased approach to system implementations, the WSSI launch was to be a big-bang implementation where all users concurrently move over to a new system. Therefore First Friday ensured faster realisation of the benefits using comprehensive planning whilst not overlooking important details or testing. All merchandising teams were given training within a single month and the new system was well-received.
